Thomas G. Short was born in Crew, Virginia to the late Edward and Sarah Short on February 12, 1941 and departed this life on December 6, 2009.

Thomas was educated in the Providence School District in Media, Pennsylvania. On November 2, 1963 Thomas joined in holy matrimony to Gladys Watson. From this union, two children were born. "Short," as he was affectionately called, worked for Prospect Park Bakery in 1960. He had a love for baking and this love for baking led to him pursing his own bakery shops: The Honey Bun and Grecio's Bakery until 1976. He later went to work at Pathmark in their Bakery Department as a manager until he retired in 2004. After his retirement he worked part-time as a crossing guard for Chichester School District in Chichester, Pennsylvania.

Thomas was baptized at Eleven Oaks Church in Crew, Virginia and then joined Bethany Baptist Church in Chester, Pennsylvania. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and family man. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Thomas was predeceased by one sister Clara Marshall. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 47 years, Gladys; children, Antoinetta Allen (Michael Allen, Sr.) Aston, Pennsylvania and Angelique V. Short, New Castle, Delaware; godchildren, Lyndora Patterson Tiller (Donald G. Tiller) Springfield, Pennsylvania and Erica Patterson, Aston, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Michael Allen, Jr., Eboni Wolfrey and Aniyah Richardson; four brothers, Robert Short (Rosa), Edward Short (Nora), William Short (Joan), Joseph Short (Jan), three sisters-in-law, Louise Lewis, Marie Watson and Helen Watson and three brothers-in-law, Linza Lewis, Norman Watson and the late Albert Watson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
