Dora L. F. Brown was born on April 1, 1930 to the late Robert Ferguson, Sr. and Luvenia Ferguson in Spartanberg, South Carolina, and departed this life on September 16, 2009.

Dora moved to Chester, Pennsylvania as a young lady in 1944, where she finished her formal education within the Chester Upland School District. Upon completion of high school, she attended nursing school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was employed by Embreeville State Hospital for thirty years. Dora was a faithful and hardworking employee until her retirement.

She joined St. Luke C. C. Church under the pastorate of the late Reverend Letcher C. Coleman, where she dedicated her life to the Lord and was baptized. Dora was a faithful member serving on the No. 2 Choir, and also a leader of Classes 2 & 16.

In 1961, Dora married the late John W. Brown. They enjoyed a loving life together until John's passing in October 2000. Dora loved to sing, especially "Jesus" by Shiekinah Glory, which was her favorite song. She loved to travel; cooking and baking, and giving great advice to her family and friends. She was a charter member of the Stockton Dean Auxiliary #3425 since 1972, where she held positions as color bearer, secretary, president, and district president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Dora served as Chairman of the Ways and Means ComŽmittee.

In addition to her beloved John, Dora was predeceased by her only daughŽter, Sheilda Yvonne (Bonnie) Driggins in March 1993, and her three brothers, Jerome, George, and Robert Ferguson, Jr. Dora leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Sally Harris of Chester, Pennsylvania, Meritha Yuille of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bettie Audrey (Bernard) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Blandena Forcer (Cyril) of Chester, Pennsylvania; one brother, James Ferguson of Indianapolis, Indiana; three god-children, George, Devy and Peachy, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Those who knew Dora could truly be a witness to her loving and giving
heart. Dora has touched many lives, and her wisdom, kindness and
knowledge will be truly missed.
