Robert H. Burnett was born February 16, 1938 in Thomson Georgia. He departed this life on Friday, March 20, 2009 at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital.
He joined First Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. M. R. McKnight and there he worked diligently for many years, where he served on the trustee board and was a faithful member. Later, he joined St. Matthews Church in Williamsburg, New Jersey. He continued to serve faithfully until his health began to fail. Robert was a well known Contractor; he was self employed for over 40 years. Burnett Concrete Company operated all throughout the Delaware County and surrounding areas. Burnett Concrete and Gessler Construction joined together during the holiday season to bring joy to the children by donating Christmas trees, toys and clothes a tradition that never wavered even during his illness.
He was well known to everyone as "Big Bob." He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He loved his family and his friends and his church.
Bob leaves his memories in the hearts of his children, Diane, (Pastor) Jimmy Lott of Atlanta, Georgia, Dennis Powell, Donna Alexander, Denise, (Rev.) Kenneth Symonds, of Chester, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by a sister Brenda Dixon; goddaughter Antoinetta Allen of Aston; three grandchildren, Nikki Hunt of Wilmington, Delaware, Jamie Perez and Artesia Lott of Atlanta, Georgia; a total of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; god-sisters, Clara Frazier and Louise Baker; special niece, Wanda Jean Collins of Thomson, Georgia and host of other nieces, nephews and friends.. He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline M. Burnett; parents, Fred Burnett and Clara W. Burnett and his sister Betty Williams.
Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God believe also in me. (John 14:1)
