On November 23, 1927, Edward Singleton was born to his loving parents David and Abigail Singleton. He was the youngest of six children born from this union. Edward was born and reared in Chester, Pennsylvania, where he received his formal education from the Chester-Upland School District.
Though Edward lived and learned, he had not loved until he met and married Pauline Seawright. From this happy union three children were born: Carolyn, Edward Jr., and Neeter Singleton.
Edward Singleton was a strong man, husband, father and grandfather. He was a lover of music which he demonstrated every time he sat down to a piano or picked up a guitar. He was a gentleman who believed in gentlemen's attire. His belief was that all men should own one god suit and hat!
Edward was preceded in death by his siblings whom he dearly loved, Cassie Thomas, Willa Mae Ricketts, Melvina White, Haywood Singleton, and Herbert Singleton. Also preceded by his loving wife Pauline, his daughters Carolyn and Neeter Singleton. He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Edward Jr.; five grandchildren, Jasmin Scott, Jauna Singleton, Byron Thomas, Anthony Ballard and Michelle Robinson; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Though his body is gone his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
