Meredith Chaplin was born to the late Meredith Chaplin and Emma Seymour Chaplin in Walterboro South Carolina on June 14, 1944. He departed this life at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center on Tuesday, August 12, 2008.

Meredith was educated in the Chester Public Schools graduating in the class of 1962. He continued his education graduating from Columbus College of Art in Columbus Ohio.

Merdy as he was fondly called by all who knew him, was a wonderful person, a gentle spirit, and was loved by all who knew him.

He was a graphic designer and was often called on for his creative talent and his ability to make words come to life.

He was a member of St. Daniel's United Methodist Church, the Y's Men, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity; he held a Black Belt and was an Aikido Instructor. He was fond of children and was always willing to do what he could to help young people.

He leaves to cherish his wonderful memory, his wife of 41 years Tommie Regina Chaplin, 2 sons Brian Chaplin of West Palm Beach, Fla, Eric and Chanelle Chaplin of Ocean City Md, 3 grandchildren, one sister in law Mildred Baughn and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was precedeased by his parents and a sister Carolyn Corday.
